I decided to break away from the usual sort of thing that I do and turn things to the south by doing a Picadillo. This is more of a traditional dish seen in Spain and the Latin American countries. It is typically made with beef but I decided to use ground turkey and add a little of the French flavour with a nice Côtes du Rhône. This experiment was a definite win with my boyfriend, as he keeps asking me to make it week after week. I think the olives and capers really bring a good flavour to this dish. The olives and capers typically have a salty flavour but I really felt that the sweet potato helps to balance this dish.
